Mike Hoffman
USAC Ford Focus Midget Driver

Mike began his racing career at the age of eight years old. He raced Quarter Midgets at the local Oaklane Quarter Midget Racing Club in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. For the next eight years Mike ran both the Oaklane and the Honeybrook track, which is located near Lancaster. In his eight years of Quarter Midgets Mike managed to race a total of 242 races at the local tracks, winning 68 of them and placing in the top five in 166 times. At Oaklane Mike holds 3 Spring Qualifier fast times, and placed in the top three in many sponsor cup races. At Honeybrook Mike holds two track records that are frozen in the Senior and Heavy Honda divisions, and one track record, that still stands in the Heavy Honda division.  When a track surface is changed all of the previous track records need to be frozen. Therefore they can never be broken and will always be set as the records on the older track surface. In 2002, Mike was the fast qualifier and champion at the Keystone Invitational at Honeybrook. Also in these eight years Mike made a few appearances at the Hagerstown Dirt Track for the Dirt Grand Nationals. In 2002 Mike had a disappointing qualifying run and qualified into the D-Main. But, he had managed to race his way up, and finish in 11th place in the A-Main. In 2004 Mike had a much better qualifying session, qualifying 15th out of 57 cars, and finishing 10th in the B-Main.
At the end of the 2005 racing season, Mike Hoffman Racing purchased a 2004 Beast Ford Focus Midget. Mike raced in the final 3 races of the USAC Northeast Ford Focus Series schedule, and came out with an impressive best finish of 12th. During the 2006 racing season, Mike will be racing a full schedule with the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Ford Focus Series. He may be making a few appearances in the Carolina/Virginia Series. Taming the 180 horsepower racecar on paved tracks ranging from 1/4 to 4/10 of a mile will be a challenging learning experience for Mike, who is climbing up the racing ladder. During the season, he will be contending for the rookie of the year and a starting spot in the second annual Ford Focus National Championship by finishing in the top ten in points.
Mike is currently in eleventh grade at North Montco Technical Career Center on a full-time basis.  He is enrolled in the Automotive Technology program and is a member of the National Technical Honors Society.  Mike also works part time as a mechanic apprentice through North Montco Technical Career Center at Yocum Ford, in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
